David Lynch refused to shoot a sequel series “Twin Peaks” – RBC


  This director said on his page on Facebook. According to Lynch, the cause was the financial differences with the project owner, the American cable channel Showtime. “After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I’m leaving because it was suggested not enough money to be able to write a script so I consider it necessary to do it,” – said the director in Facebook. He added that he begins to ring up the actors to tell them the news. Lynch also wrote that, in his opinion, “Twin Peaks” can still be filmed for Showtime. The reaction of the fans to this statement not long in coming. In the comments to this post, many fans of director expressed the view that “Twin Peaks” is impossible without David Lynch, and some advised to run kraudfandingovuyu campaign.

  The mystical series “Twin Peaks” went from 1990 to 1991. It it was a small town of Twin Peaks, where there was a loud murder. Pilot series watched by 34 million viewers. The second season was filmed at the insistence of fans of the series, while Lynch himself was opposed to the idea. By the end of the second season of the audience fell to 10 million people for the series.

It was planned that Lynch will remove nine series that will appear in 2016. Their participation in the new season also confirmed actor Kyle MacLachlan, who played the role of FBI agent Dale Cooper.
