After the anniversary of the 50th season of the Moscow Taganka theater closed for the repair and restoration work, ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the metropolitan culture department.
The last major overhaul of the theater was conducted over 30 years ago, in 1980. Were then replaced and reinforced slab foundation.
Now the main objective is the adaptation of the building to a modern use, the creation of comfortable conditions for visitors and staff, modern equipment theater efficient engineering systems.
Repair and restoration work will last for a year.
Anniversary Season 2013-2014 Taganka Theater was awarded the 11th prime ministers and vivid tour in Paris and Seoul. The next season, in connection with the renovation of the theater will give performances on the grounds of the Moscow theaters, houses and palaces of culture. Already reached an agreement with the “ZIL” and “Firework”, and in the near future there will be a full schedule of the theater in the next six months.
The building of the Taganka Theater – an object of cultural heritage of federal importance. It was built in 1908 on the site of FLOUR series. Initially, there was located electro-theater “Volcano”, after the October Revolution – Theatre Safonov, then – a branch of the Maly Theater. In 1946, the building has won the newly formed Drama and comedy, which, however, did not enjoy great popularity among the townspeople. In 1964 he was invited to lead the Theatre Yuri Lyubimov, who managed to bring theater to a whole new level and make it one of the most popular theater venues.
