Dmitri Hvorostovsky has no plans to cancel further performances – TASS

MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. Opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky, abolishing the performances in the Vienna Opera due to chemotherapy, has no plans to cancel further performances and concerts. About this TASS said the Manager of the artist Anna ilina.

“In connection with the assigned therapy, Dmitry, unfortunately, had to cancel performances at the Vienna state Opera, as at the time of treatment and the performances are the same. No further performances of to cancel is not planned,” – said Ilyin.

Performances of “Simon Boccanegra” at the state Opera on 30 September, 3 and 6 Oct. At the moment on the official Opera website it is reported that the party of Simon Boccanegra will be performed by Italian baritone Marco Bretonia. Hvorostovsky at the same time declared in the play “La Traviata”, which will go on stage of the Vienna state Opera from November 19.

In December 7 and 10 numbers Hvorostovsky should make his debut at the Bolshoi theatre in Verdi’s “don Carlos”. In the Kremlin Palace on December 14 will be held the concert “Dmitri Hvorostovsky and friends”.

in the Summer of 2015, Hvorostovsky was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Despite treatment, he continued the speech – in particular, he was on tour in North America and performed at the Green theatre ENEA with the program “Songs of military years” in honor of Victory Day.
