MOSCOW, July 31 – RIA Novosti. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the People’s Artist Oleg Popov with the 85th anniversary, according to the website of the Russian government on Friday.
“You, an outstanding artist, rightly considered the king of the circus arts and loved by millions of children and adults. Your rare talent, incredible plastic, musicality and charisma embodied in the bright and sunny rooms have helped you become a consummate master of clowning”, – said in a congratulatory telegram, published on the website.
Medvedev wished the actor health and well-being.
Oleg Popov – People’s Artist of the USSR (1969). He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1980), the Order of Friendship (1994). Marked Certificate of Merit President of the Russian Federation (2010).
The winner of the International Circus Festival in Warsaw (two gold medals as a clown in the arena and how eccentric, speaks at the free wire, 1957), an Oscar (Brussels, 1958), in 1981 won the honorary prize “Golden Clown” International Festival Monte-Carlo.
In June 2015 Oleg Popov first time in 25 years, arrived in Russia. He became an honorary guest of the international circus award “Master”, which was held in Sochi. He opened his speech the ceremony and was awarded the “Legend of the circus”.
