Actress Angelina Jolie will play Catherine II in the film about the private life of the empress, writes Daily Mail .
According to the publication, the film will focus on the scandalous love life “nymphomaniac” Catherine the Great.
The new film will be based on the book by Simon Sebag Montefiore, “Potemkin prince of princes”, Jolie has acquired the film rights.
«I am delighted that Angelina chose my work, because it was my first book and it was a labor of love,” – said Sebag-Montefiore.
It is noted that Jolie has wanted to play Catherine II nine years ago.
