Kosachev: US taken as a threat to those who limit their leadership – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, July 9 – RIA Novosti. Any rival the US, which can disrupt the sole leadership of the Americans, is a threat to their national security. So the head of the international committee of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev commented on the statement of the US Air Force to expand its presence in Europe because of the threat from the Russian Federation.

Minister USAF Deborah Lee James in an interview with Reuters said that Russia is the greatest threat to US national security which should increase its presence in Europe, even if Washington’s NATO allies are experiencing economic difficulties.

“With this (statement) may agree, if we look at it through the eyes of the United States can not agree with that, if you look at the situation through the eyes of Russia”, – Kosachev said on Thursday at a meeting with a group of students of the Academy of Journalism, cooperating with the Fund A. M. Gorchakov.

“We are not going to infringe on US security, we are not going to attack the United States,” – said the senator.

He stressed that the logic of the Americans is that they are trying impose it on all countries that “any opponent, which limits the sole US leadership in the world is a threat to national security of the United States”.

At the same time Kosachev said that Russia is an ally and partner of all countries, including America, to counter new threats and challenges that exist in the world, including – “Islamic state”.

Kosachev noted that after the imposition of sanctions against Russia, the Americans and their partners stopped cooperation and the special services, the parties do not exchange information on the activities of terrorist and extremist organizations. “Out here alone – to cooperate” – the senator said.
