announced the laureates of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition Tchaikovsky, held in Moscow and St. Petersburg from June 15 to July 3.
The first prize among pianists awarded to Russian Denis Masleevu. In second place were 19-year-old pianist George Li and Russian Geniušas Lucas. The third prize was awarded to 16-year-old Daniel Kharitonov and 24-year-old Sergei Redkin from St. Petersburg.
The best vocalists named Russian woman mezzo-soprano and baritone Julius Matochkina Mongolia Ganbaatar Ariunbaatar.
The winner in “cello” was the Romanian Ionut Andrei Ionita.
The first prize in the violin competition, it was decided not to award. The second prize was awarded to Yuychenyu Tseng of Taiwan, the third – Russian violinist Pavel Milyukov Kazazyan and nuts, as well as Alexander Konunov from Moldova.
July 2 in Moscow, in the Great Hall of the Conservatory, and July 3 – St. Petersburg at the new Mariinsky Theatre will be a gala concert of the winners.
The first contest of Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky was held in 1958 in two specialties – “Piano” and “Violin”. In 1962 it was added to the specialty “cello”. The category of “solo singing” (with individual awards in the categories of male and female vocals) came in third in the 1966 contest. In 2011, the first time the competition was held in two cities – Moscow and St. Petersburg.
This year’s competition is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
