The singer Pink Floyd: “I’ve had enough, the group has become obsolete” – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW – August 15, RIA Novosti reported. The vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour in a special issue of the British magazine Classic Rock, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd, said that “pigs will fly more than he would return to the group”.

” I’ve had enough. I was in a group of 48 years with Roger Waters, and the years of the flourishing 95 percent were filled with music, joy and gladness. But the group has outlived its usefulness, we have ended – and it would be hypocritical to return to the stage ” – said 69-year-old Gilmore.

The legendary rocker said that it would be wrong to revive the band without a keyboardist Richard Wright, who died in 2008. According to him, many people want to see the legendary team, but “now it’s just a pop band, which I do not need to come back.”

In November last year after the presentation of the album Gilmore “The Endless River”, dedicated to Wright, he said that this is the last album, which will complete the life of Pink Floyd “in the lyrical note.” “We grow old, we do not have the materials for the recording”.

Now Gilmour is preparing to release his solo album “Rattle That Lock”, which will be released September 18.

Pink Floyd – English rock band. Famous for its philosophical texts, acoustic experiments, innovations in the design of the album and a great show.
