Moscow. October 2nd. INTERFAX.RU – Russian collector and businessman Inna Bazhenov, publishes Russian version of the influential international newspaper about the art of The Art Newspaper, became the owner of its British edition. On Thursday reported on the newspaper’s website.
According to the new owner of The Art Newspaper, it will increase funding and will focus on the development of online -version newspaper.
A license for a monthly publication of the Russian edition of The Art Newspaper Bazhenov received in 2010. As noted on the website of the newspaper, when the previous owner Umberto Allemande decided to retire, it was the first Bazhenov, who was invited to lead the business.
In this Allemande will continue to participate in the affairs of The Art Newspaper as honorary president, and he founded the newspaper Anna Somers Cocks remain its chief editor.
The Art Newspaper began publication in 1990, then there were versions in six languages - English, French, Italian, Greek, Russian and Chinese. The newspaper has a network of subsidiaries publications with 50 correspondents and editorial offices in London, Turin, New York, Paris, Moscow. The newspaper also annually presents the award for achievement in the exhibition, museum, restoration and publishing and the world of the art market.
The new owner of the publication is engaged in collecting art for more than ten years. In early 2014 she established a foundation artist Michael Roginskiy. Bazhenov is also director of the Russian OFS holding GMS.
