On the stage with the Crocus City Hall are not yet end to understand the scenery of “Miss Universe” performed nine-Grammy laureate Natalie Cole. Says Boris drums.

The last time Natalie Cole came to Russia as a guest of the anniversary of Igor Butman (see. “Kommersant” dated October 29, 2011). It was in the Kremlin, the holiday was a stranger, and the American singer has made every effort to emphasize their status as possible headliner and nail program. It looked solid and expensive. The Crocus City Hall Natalie Cole ruled unchallenged, so it could not too tense. The concert became a kind of demonstrations, but conducted with the unique lightness and irony.

Natalie Cole came on the scene a cold, and then dabbing his nose and clear nasal napkins. And yet there was not one moment where the audience might regret the money spent on the ticket. It is worth noting that the public might be more. But Natalie Cole could break everything “but” the situation – and the disease, and the shortfall in the audience, and the fact that normally expected of her, especially the song “Unforgettable”.

She sounded in the second half of the concert. In the early 1990s, it looked real sensation: Natalie Cole alternated verses from the late father Nat King Cole who sang on the screen. Now, technology far ahead, this episode is, of course, adds to the nostalgic sweetness concert, but does not seem so, for what came. By the time Natalie Cole sang “Unforgettable”, viewers have already seen that, despite the cold, 63-year-old diva in great shape.

It was interesting to observe how slowly, without too much stress working its staff. After the performance of “Unforgettable” Natalie Cole has decided to present its musicians. First of all, she gave a word percussionist, concurrently to his son – this has turned out a succession of generations. He could not start properly, but Mrs. Cole and eyebrow led not only said: “Do not hurry.” Keyboardist also not seem to really understand how to begin a solo, and joined immediately. Drummer, on the contrary, he began to bang sticks, so the heroine of the evening was forced to restrain him: “Now, let’s calm down and give me something easier, poprohladnee.” And with the backing singers, she suddenly began to improvise a small voice on the subject of some children’s cartoon. In all this through solid self-confidence, that the potential of the singer and the group is huge, and even the common cold, it is able to dream and keep the show in any direction.

The whole concert, as befits a tavern show consisted of well-known jazz and pop themes. In the final, Natalie Cole has played a medley of songs of their favorite artists who have died in the recent past – Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Etta James, and Whitney Houston. This format could not cause association with the show “The Voice”, which is largely built on these evergreen topics. Of course, the concert Natalie Cole – ideal workshop for its members. And among other things – a great example of how, with grandiose data transmitted from the very DNA, the singer does not seek every second to show all its power and all win. When she came out for an encore with a Latin medley and sang “Oye Como Va”, it has been given, not all the notes, but more importantly it has been proved. She knew accompanists with completeness, she spoke the same language with the public and in a hurry.
