Russian State Film Fund has reviewed the directory feature films State Film Museum and found it to be counterfeit, according to «News» . According to the law, these copies do not have the right to publicly display and they are subject to destruction or legalization.

The collection includes ribbons Kira Muratova, Gennady Shpalikov, Mikhail Romm, Friedrich Murnau, Sergei Eisenstein, Fritz Lang, Marlene Hutsieva, Vadim Abdrashitov, François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, Rolan Bykov et al.

Part of the collection feature films Film Museum inherited from the Bureau of filmed propaganda USSR Union of Cinematographers. According to the director of the Museum of Cinema Larisa Solonitsyna, all documentation on the transfer of the collection was lost. Another part of the collection was due to directors who donated to the Museum of cinema copies of his paintings.

The former director of the Museum of Cinema Naum Kleiman, which under the leadership of the museum acquired the collection, said that during the test Gosfilmofond it has not addressed. “We have always asked permission from the rights holders before a public screening of the film. When we received as a gift from the films of Jean-Luc Godard and Film Archives of India, every time we had to coordinate activities with embassies and cultural centers – Naum Kleiman said.
