The creator of “Merry Go Round” died in Moscow – Sight

In Moscow, 78, died creator cartoon magazine “Merry Go Round” Gennady Sokolsky.

«78, died director Gennady M. Sokol – from those masters, whom we call the legend of domestic animation. He was behind the “Merry Go Round” and took the very first cartoon “Well, wait!”. Then created such beloved films as “Bird Tari”, “Mouse Peak”, “Silver hoof”, “Ivashka of the Palace of Pioneers,” “The Adventures of Lolo penguin”, “Little Witch”. Together with Fyodor Khitruk worked on the film “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day” – according to the website animator.ru.

Sokolsky attended a course animators at the studio “Soyuzmultfilm”, where he worked from 1961 to 1998.

As an animator cartoon and puppet paintings participated in the creation of more than 170 films as a director made his debut in 1969. Shot draw pictures and movies in the art relaying.

He was director multvstavok in the feature films “Love Man” (1972), “The Tale of How Czar Peter Moor married” (1976).

«Like most Russian animators Sokolsky had no honorary titles and awards. Gennady Mikhailovich was happy when he was invited to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Russian animation in the Kremlin and presented a commemorative statuette. Farewell to Sokolsky will be held December 30 at the Botkin Hospital.
