State Film Fund of the Russian Federation has reviewed the directory feature films State Museum of Cinema, based on the audit entire catalog (841 title) is recognized as counterfeit, the newspaper Izvestia.
This means, according to the publication, copies of paintings that were transferred to the Museum movie without the right to publicly display and, according to the law (Art. 1252 of the Civil Code), shall be destroyed or legalization.

It is also reported that part of the collection feature films Film Museum inherited from the Bureau of filmed propaganda USSR Union of Cinematographers. According to the director, there is not any documentation on the transfer of the collection of the Museum of Cinema. She said that another part of the collection was due to directors who gave the Museum movie copies of his paintings, without any contracts granting rights to the museum on public display.
The collection of full-length feature films include Film Museum tape Kira Muratova, Gennady Shpalikov, Mikhail Romm, Friedrich Murnau, Sergei Eisenstein, Fritz Lang, Marlene Hutsieva, Vadim Abdrashitov, François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, Rolan Bykov and other prominent directors .
