The film “Leviathan” by Andrei Zvyagintsev was shortlisted nominees for the “Oscar” in the category “Best Foreign Language Film.” In the fight for the award from the Russian films another eight rivals, chief among them – Moorish tape “Timbuktu” and the Polish “Ida”.

The film Zvyagintsev – a story about the confrontation residents of a small town in the Russian North authorities. The plot based on real events, however, occurred in the north of the United States. Picture already safely be called titled. At the 67th Cannes festival she took the prize for “The best-case scenario,” was recognized as the best in the Film Forum in London, won the prize of the festival of Polish cinematography – “golden frog” and was nominated as the “Golden Globe”. In Russia, the tape will be released in wide release on February 5.
