Cynthia Lennon died in Majorca at age 75 after a long battle with cancer. A tribute to her memory gave former musician The Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as the second wife Yoko Ono Lennon. The latter said: “I am very saddened by the death of Cynthia. She was a wonderful person and a wonderful mother to Julian”.
Cynthia met her future husband in college in Liverpool in 1957. They were married even before Beatlemania turned her husband out of the ordinary musician in the world celebrity. Returning from a trip, she found her husband’s house with another woman, dressed in her bathrobe.
Lennon did not want to participate in high-profile divorce proceedings. He paid Cynthia 100,000 pounds and allowed to issue custody of her son. At the same time, Paul McCartney wrote the song Hey, Jude, to comfort John Lennon’s son Julian during his parents’ divorce.
Cynthia in 1970, married to an Italian, three years later divorced him. In 1976, she again tried to organize family life and married to a British engineer, but later divorced him.
According to Daily Mail, in the years of his marriage to Cynthia Lennon could only watch the progress on the part of the husband.
