Kiev February 10 should give an answer in the case of Scythian gold – REGNUM

Today, January 7, the representative of the Court of Fatima el Geriri told reporters that at this stage there is an exchange of letters between the parties to the conflict.

The Ukrainian authorities have until February 10 to give a written response to the Crimean museums and the Dutch Museum Allard Pierson. It is a museum of Crimea collection of Scythian gold was taken to the Netherlands, which was exhibited at the Museum Allard Pierson.

However, in the period when the collection was in the Netherlands, the Crimea was reunited with Russia. Legal rights to the collection said the Crimean museums, which came under Russian jurisdiction. However, the Ukrainian side declared its rights to Scythian gold, since Kiev does not recognize the reunification of the Crimea with Russia.

Allard Pierson Museum, in turn, did not return a Scythian gold Crimean museums, but also to the Ukrainian authorities. The museum’s administration went to court to clarify who return the gold. The point stretches more than a year.

«The next step in this case would be a written response in Ukraine, which should be sent by February 10,” – said Geriri.
