He received the award ten thousand euros. The new category “scientific work. History and theory of contemporary art” defeated Mikhail Yampolsky with the essay “Scenic gnosis.”

The prize for the poster will be the publication of his works in Russian or English. Add that This year the organizing committee of the award received a record number of applications – 418 , – from which the jury selected nine finalists, three in each category. Their work has been exhibited at the show, which also took place in the cinema “Drummer”.

“Kandinsky Prize” – Russia’s annual national award in the field of contemporary art, founded in 2007. The award is not given for “longevity” or creative contribution. This award for the best artistic achievements of the last two years, the main criterion for choosing the winners – the extent to which a particular artist their latest works influenced the situation in contemporary Russian art. Over the years, winners of the award in the main category “Project of the Year” became Anatoly Osmolovsky Alexei Belyaev-Gintovt, Vadim Zakharov, Alexander Brodsky, Yuri Albert, AES + F group and Grisha Bruskin and Irina Nakhova.
