The premiere of the eighth season of “Doctor Who” attracted a record audience – URAL.ru

This is the best result for the start of the season in the UK for the past four years, says The Hollywood Reporter.


 
 

Series with Capaldi, who became the 12th performer role of the Doctor in the series BBC, gathered their TVs an average of 6.8 million people, ie 32.5% of the total television audience in the UK.


 
 

The greatest interest of the audience was fixed within five minutes, when the series looked at 7.3 million viewers.


 
 

The previous record for the number of audience was recorded at the season premiere, which took place on Easter Sunday, 2010, when the screen is in the form of Doctor Who first appeared predecessor Capaldi actor Matt Smith. Then the average number of viewers was 8 million people.


 
 

The shooting of the eighth season, which will consist of 12 episodes, began in January 2014.
