The first “Batmobile” went under the hammer in the US – BBC News

The first car sold at auction Batman “Heritage” in Dallas, United States, for 137,000 dollars. The buyer’s name remains unknown, reports Tass.

To create this “Batmobile” the designer Forrest Robinson took three years. Remaking “Oldsmobile 88″ (1956 release) in a black car, which was traveling thunderstorm gotemskih criminals, ended in 1963.

The car served as advertising an exhibit to the output of the series Batman in the 1966-1968 period. In the film, however, for the offspring Robinson has no place, and instead use the “Batmobile” based on “Lincoln Futura-55″.
