Vladimir Putin, speaking to the guests of the Eastern Economic Forum said that the Far East should be developed as a key center of the country, effectively integrated into the Asia-Pacific region. Speech of the President sounded at the plenary session, which brought together Russian and foreign politicians, investors and heads of the largest companies in Russia and the region. The President stressed that the main task of the Russian Far East – compete with other Asian markets.
“Our main priorities in the Far East – an active policy of social development, the formation of modern transport, educational infrastructure, affordable housing, the creation of high-quality systems provide medical services and, of course, this expansion of economic freedom, providing for domestic and foreign investors to the best conditions for business to performance, return on capital for the Russian Far East to successfully compete with the leading business centers, “- said Vladimir Putin.
The investment climate in the region, according to Putin, will be one of the key parameters of assessment of governors by the federal center. For improvement of the climate in the Far East, the head of state, in particular, offered to optimize energy tariffs, as well as to extend preferences to the law on the establishment of a free port in Vladivostok, on the other key harbor region.
In addition the President stressed the importance of involving in the east of the country highly qualified specialists and scientists. And Vladimir Putin instructed the government to simplify the procedure for the free allocation of land to citizens in the Far East in the amount of up to 1 hectare, and as soon as possible to consider the relevant bill.
