Famous canadian musician and writer Leonard Cohen was buried in Montreal in the Jewish cemetery. This was reported in the local synagogue Shaar Hashomayim.
Cohen was buried on Thursday, 10 November, that is before the world learned of his death.
“Leonard wanted to be buried in a traditional Jewish ceremony next to his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents” – leads edition of the Toronto Star statement of the local synagogue. At the funeral ceremony was attended by only members of the musician’s family and his relatives.
