Legendary clown Oleg Popov died in Rostov-na-Donu – Росбалт.RU

World-famous clown, people’s artist of the USSR Oleg Popov died in Rostov-on-don, on 87-m to year of life, reported by “Rosbalt” the head of state.

Causes of death of the legendary artist is still unknown.

the head of state expressed condolences to the families and friends of Oleg Popov. “Generous, versatile talent and dedication have earned Oleg Romanov deserved professional recognition and sincere love of grateful spectators that will fill their hearts for many, many years”, — said the head of state.

Few days ago it was reported that Popov came to Russia with a concert tour “Let there always be sunshine” — concerts were held in St. Petersburg and Saratov, and Rostov-on-don.

the Famous clown was born in the Moscow region, but left the country in 1991. He was depressed and repeatedly talked about the loss of the savings of a lifetime in the late 1980′s-early 1990-ies in the “perestroika” and the collapse of the Soviet Union, about mocking a small pension, which he was supposed to be, and the unwillingness to earn the missing money by planting bulbs in the underpass.

Since 1991, while retaining Russian citizenship, lived and worked in Egloffstein, Germany under the stage name “Happy Hans”.

In December 2015 was made in St. Petersburg at the opening after the restoration of the Circus Ciniselli. For 2016 planned 60 performances in St. Petersburg.
