“The solar clown” Oleg Popov will be buried in Germany on November 9 – the View

National artist of the USSR, “Sunny clown” Oleg Popov, who died November 2, in the 87th year of life, will be buried in Germany on 9 November, said the people’s artist of Russia, Director of the Great Moscow state circus Edgard Zapashny.

“Tonight, a plane he will travel to Moscow the day after tomorrow in Germany, and tomorrow will be buried where he lived the last 30 years,” said Zapashny, who arrived in Rostov-on-don at the farewell ceremony with Popov, reports TASS.

Popov was born on 31 July 1930. He is known to the General public in the image of “Sunny the clown”. Since 1991 Oleg Popov lived and worked in Germany, where he moved when he married a German woman. There he organized his own circus program.
