MOSCOW, November 14 – RIA Novosti. In the Moscow Art Theater (MAT) Chekhov on Saturday night began a formal celebration of the artistic director, People’s Artist of the USSR Oleg Tabakov on his 80th birthday.
Tabakov came to congratulate the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, the Russian President’s Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi, TV presenter Vladimir Pozner, a satirist Zhvanetski, director Vladimir Menshov, actress Vera Vasilyeva and others.
“The theater is always there – in the days of the tragedy, and on holidays, theater consolidates people. Today, we are here to understand that life goes on, as well as continuing the theater,” – said in his welcoming speech ANNIVERSARY Shvydkoi.
Tabakov celebrated his birthday on August 17. August 25 congratulated the troupe of his Master and the Moscow Art Theater under the direction of the theater Tabakov, the so-called “snuff-box”.
At the end of August in Saratov, the home of the director, was a monument dedicated to his work.
