Hvorostovsky has canceled its performances at the Bolshoi theatre on the advice of doctors – RBC

Singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky has canceled two performances in a production of “don Carlos” at the Bolshoi theatre on the recommendation of doctors after medical examination. This was announced by the Manager of the artist on the official website of the provider.

According to the Manager, Mr. Hvorostovsky made a survey in London after performances of “La Traviata” in Vienna. Doctors advised the actor to stay in the British capital “for further treatment and rest.”

“Dmitry is very sorry about the situation, but he is optimistic about his recovery and am very grateful to my family, friends, colleagues and fans for their continued support and love,” the message reads.

In June 2015, doctors diagnosed Hvorostovsky brain tumor. After that, he cancelled all the concerts that he had planned for the summer. Two months later, he first appeared on the scene after a course of chemotherapy with a party in the Opera “the Troubadour” on the stage of new York’s Metropolitan Opera.
