The remains of Nicholas II’s children offered reburied in St. Petersburg – RBC

The government has proposed to rebury the remains of Crown Prince Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria Romanov Catherine chapel Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg. This was reported on the website of the Cabinet.

The proposal introduced the working group on issues related to research and reburial held in the State Archive of the remains of the last Russian emperor’s children. At the meeting, the group presented the conclusions of the two expert groups, confirming the authenticity of the remains.

«The experts stressed that in case of the need to resolve this or that historical issues possible additional genetic analysis of samples of bone remains of graves and analysis of samples of the next of kin,” – It said in a statement.

The government has proposed to bury the remains of 18 October 2015. At the ceremony planned to invite representatives of the Romanov family.

Group reburial of the remains of Tsarevich and Grand Duchess was established by the Government in June 2015. Her head was appointed Head of the Government Staff Sergei Prikhodko.

Now the remains, which were found in 2007 near Yekaterinburg, located in the State Archives.
