The governor of California Jerry Brown has pardoned a famous Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr., who served in the late 1990s, a prison sentence for drug possession, reports Reuters. The decision was made after the filing of a petition for clemency.

 The actor, known for roles in the film “Sherlock Holmes,” “Iron Man,” “The Avengers” was included in the list of 91 individuals who, according to the authorities, although made in the past various offenses, but proved that embarked on the road to reform. The pardon was timed to Christmas.
