BERLIN, December 13 – RIA Novosti, Tatyana Firsova. The film is about the life of the famous British singer Amy Winehouse won the European Film Awards EFA European Film Awards in the category “best documentary film”, the best directors on the version of EFA became famous Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino and the Swede Roy Andersson.

Andersson received a statuette for the film “The dove perched on a branch, thinking about life” (Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence). This painting, along with the film “Tiny Island” (La isla mínima / Marshland) also received the Audience Award. Picture Sorrentino became also the best film version of the European Film Academy.

The Jury noted the writers of the film “Lobster” (The Lobster), the award-winner in the nomination “European Open” was the picture of “Mustang” (Mustang), created in cooperation of Turkey, France, Germany and Qatar. Cartoon “Song of the Sea” (Song of The Sea) recognized as the best in the category of “animation”.

The Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, who played in “Inglourious Basterds” by Quentin Tarantino, won the award for European achievement in world cinema, British actress Charlotte Rampling was awarded in the category “Best European Actress” for the film “45″ (45 Years). British movie star Michael Caine was awarded in the category “Best Actor” for his work in the film Sorrentino “Youth”, as he was awarded an honorary award EFA.

European Film Awards EFA European Film Awards were established in 1988, it is called “European Oscar”. The prize is awarded annually in 21 nominations. The Academy brings together European directors, experts and producers.
