Petersburg Mufti asks to tighten the procedure for registration of religious communities – REGNUM

Saint-Petersburg, December 9, 2015, 21:46 – REGNUM Mufti of St. Petersburg, the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of St. Petersburg and North-West region of Russia Ravil Pancheev proposed to tighten the procedure of state registration of religious organizations in the fight against extremism, reports IA REGNUM .

According to the Mufti, thoughtless punching of such organizations leads to the fact that the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Russia’s regions have no idea what it was doing believers and what kind of Islam they preach.

According Pancheeva , creators of radical religious communities penetrate into Russia from abroad, and they can also be Russian citizens, earlier went there to study. This is due to the fact that Russia lacks religious and secular educational institutions, engaged in Islam and, in general, the East, so training has to send people to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Syria and other eastern countries. Conversely, people often come back with a changed outlook, unacceptable to Russian society.

These “missionaries,” says Pancheev apply on the territory of the Russian Federation and “start treating young people who are in a difficult situation.” The official Islamic clergy is trying to deal with it, but the problem is too complex. “We, in our view, can withstand only the words, meetings at different venues, the sermon,” – said Pancheev.

According to him, the country’s mushrooming religious organizations initiated by the ones who preach radical Islam. This is due to the fact that it is too easy to get registered with the Justice Ministry, said Pancheev.

«We are absolutely not necessary. Why do I need a person with a perverted conception of religion? Who will preach at the mosque and set people against my country? It is not necessary to me, I is not going, even kill, “- said the mufti.

Pancheev recalled the repeated operations of the FSB in Apraksin yard in St. Petersburg, in which different prayer room is a Wahhabi and other extremist literature. “These communities were not under the control of the local Spiritual Administration official” – said the mufti.

He said that the Ministry of Justice under the law shall not consult with the Spiritual Directorate for registration of new religious communities. However, in the opinion of the Mufti of St. Petersburg, it would be prudent to change this situation.

«Let’s raise the question (amendments to legislation – approx. REGNUM) . See, they open the organization did not begin to gather in the basement. The cell was set up, got money for it, and went to another region. Where are they it opened – we do not know what they were doing – we do not know, because they are beyond our control, “- said Ravil Hazrat Pancheev.
