38th Moscow Film Festival, which began its work on June 23 this year. Observers and reporters in the evening expect a few surprises.
This year, the jury headed by the winner of the previous MIFF, Bulgarian director Ivailo Hristov. The main prize – « Golden George » – received Iranian film Reza Mirkarimi «Daughter”. Main show prize was awarded to the drama of the Iranian film director Reza Mirkarimi « Daughter ».
The best actor recognized Iranian Farhad Aslani for his role in the movie « Daughter ». The best performer of female roles became 13-year-old Filipina Teresa Malvar , who played in the movie « Shroud ». . Best documentary Feature film was recognized Cheraw Yuna « Mrs B. History of women from North Korea ».
The competition of short films overcame picture Nicole Branding « Full selfie »( Selfied , USA), in the competition documentary film -« Mrs B. History of women from North Korea »(Madame B, histoire d’une Nord-Coréenne, South Korea) filmmaker Yung Cheraw. So Audience Award International Film Festival (it’s called “The key to the hearts of the audience”) went to the Serbo-Croatian film diary machinists.
