LONDON, June 11 – RIA Novosti. Bust of Russian writer Mikhail Sholokhov opened in the UK in Warrington (Cheshire) within the framework of the Russian-British cross-Year Language and Literature, according to the Russian Embassy in London.

Carved wooden bust of laureate writer Nobel Prize Mikhail Sholokhov presented Warrington municipality known Russian sculptor Leonty Usov. One of the streets of the British city is called “Cossack” (Cossack Ave), the embassy noted.

During the ceremony in Warrington representatives of the Russian embassy also handed medals Ushakov for his courage and bravery by British veterans who served in the Arctic convoys during the Second World War.
