Putin also drew attention to the importance of the issues of the social sphere in comparison with the problems of international relations and defense spheres. He noted that international issues and defense issues are important, but “there is nothing more important to the economy and social sphere».
Elections to the State Duma of the VII convocation will be held in a single voting day, September 18, 2016 in accordance with the 2014 law, which returns a mixed system of elections to the lower house of parliament. Half of the 450 deputies will be elected on party lists and a half – from single-mandate constituencies. In addition, by law, in the next Parliament, the seventh convocation will be the party that will overcome the five percent barrier (instead of seven percent previously).
