the First American winner of the Booker prize (Man Booker Prize) was writer Paul Beaty. This was announced by the Chairman of the award jury Amanda Forman at a ceremony in London.
Beaty received the award for his fourth novel, “Sale” (The Sellout).
Besides him, fought for the victory the writer of UK Deborah Levi and the book “Hot milk” (Hot milk), Briton Graham Makri Barnet’s novel “His bloody project” (His Bloody Project), the author of “Eileen” (Eileen) American Attessa, Moshfegh, British-canadian writer David Ssali with the work “the essence of man” (All That Is Man) and Madeleine Thien from Canada “don’t tell me we have nothing” (Do Not Say We Have Nothing), reports TASS.
