Russian Museum refused to accept a collection of paintings of Evgenia Vasilyeva – TASS

SAINT-PETERSBURG, 26 October. /TASS/. Russian Museum refused to accept his collection of paintings of the former head of Department of property relations of the Ministry of defense Evgenia Vasilyeva, which was given to him as a gift.

“Today in the Russian Museum was held the meeting of the expert stock-purchasing Commission, which decided to reject the acceptance of a gift of works by E. N. Vasilyeva “Transcriptase” (triptych) in connection with the discrepancy of the collecting practice of the Museum,” said TASS in the press service of the Russian Museum. The author offered to take pictures for two weeks.

Earlier, representatives of the Museum noted that the pictures were taken for temporary storage on a common basis, as all works presented to the Museum by artists and collectors. The decision on inclusion of new exhibits in the Museum collection collectively taking stock-purchasing Commission, which is composed of about 30 experts.
