Deputy Minister of Culture on Thursday accused – Kommersant

The complaints that have been filed in the Moscow City Court on Monday, according to the invalidity and the illegality of an arrest warrant. Lawyers say that the representative of the investigation, pleading for restraint measures, and could not convincingly justify neither its argument, in particular that, if at large, the suspects may flee, continue to engage in criminal activities, threaten witnesses, destroy evidence or obstruct the proceedings. In this connection, the lawyer Mr. Ivanov Alexey Kurganov said that the FSB did not provide any information about what the suspects may commit these unlawful acts. He referred to the decision of the plenum of the Supreme Court dated 29 October 2009, which stated that the preventive measure in the form of detention should be elected only in exceptional cases.

The complaints indicate that, seeking the arrests, a consequence almost as the main argument relied on the gravity of the alleged crimes – fraud on a large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code..). But, according to the protection, security officers have not provided the court is no conclusive evidence linking the suspects to the crime.

As already informed “Kommersant”, Investigations Directorate of the FSB believes that in 2012, the Deputy Minister Georgy Pirumov created a criminal group which included his subordinates and businessmen.
