“Sunstroke” Mikhalkov won a prize of the Shanghai Film Festival for cinematography –

The picture of the Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov’s “Sunstroke” won the prize “Gold Cup” at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival in the category “Best Cinematography”, reports RIA “Novosti” .

The award at the ceremony, which took place the day before, received the painting operator Vladislav Opelyants.

“Sunstroke” is based on two works of Ivan Bunin – the story “Sunstroke” (1925) and the diaries of 1918-1920 “Cursed Days”. The idea to make a film based on the prose Bunin came to the director more than 37 years ago, but the realization of his ideas, he was able to start only in 2010. The world premiere took place October 3, 2014 in Belgrade (Serbia), Russia – October 4, 2014, in wide release film was released on October 9. Earlier, the film was awarded the national film awards of the Russian Federation – “Golden Eagle”.

International Film Festival held June 13-21 in Shanghai. In total, the main competition program included 14 paintings, including films from the US, Poland, Japan, Taiwan, France and Japan. The festival jury, which included directors and filmmakers from China, South Korea, France, Hong Kong and the United States, headed by Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev.

The best film of the festival has been recognized as the work of French director Pierre Jolivet The Nigth Watchman. Film Carte-Blanche (“carte blanche”), who directed the Polish director Jacek Lusinski, received the prize Grand Prix Jury. The best is the director of the jury acknowledged Cao Baopina the ribbon The Dead End. The same pattern of Chinese director has won a prize in the category “Best Actor”. The prize for best screenplay won reel of film Cake (“cake”) American director Daniel Barntsa.
