MOSCOW, June 10 – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi during talks on Wednesday discussed the topic of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the EU.

“We talked about sanctions, but very down to earth, they say. Not in terms of the abolition or simplification. We talked about how these sanctions hinder the development of our relations”, – Putin has told journalists after talks with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

According to Putin, the two countries have a number of joint Russian-Italian projects, including in the field of infrastructure.

“It is obvious all, that the Italian companies that competed for the contracts won Tenders are interested in implementing them. But they got up, can not be realized due to sanctions against some of our financial institutions. You just need to find a way out, “- said the head of the Russian state.

The meeting of Putin and Renzi passes after summit of G7, which discussed the extension of sanctions against Russia. The forum adopted a communiqué, stating that sanctions against Russia may be canceled only if the Minsk agreements – while the country groups are ready to tighten restrictive measures if the situation in Ukraine will worsen. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the Ukrainian domestic conflict. In the Kremlin, noted that the West must do more to demand from Kiev Minsk implementation arrangements.

The relations between Russia and the West have deteriorated over the situation in Ukraine. In late July, the EU and the United States from the point of sanctions against certain individuals and companies have moved to the measures against whole sectors of the Russian economy. In response, Russia has restricted the import of food products from countries that have imposed sanctions against it: the United States, EU Member States, Canada, Australia and Norway. Under the ban were beef, pork, poultry, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruit, dairy products and some other products.
