“This event is a national scale. This year we will have the whole quarter, which will include sixteen museums. However, from the Department of Culture there are only ten museums. Museums participating in the festival are distributed by thematic blocks – literary, scientific, and others. Their exhibition will be devoted to the 70th anniversary of the Victory, the 175th anniversary of Tchaikovsky, year of literature in Russia. The main exhibition will be presented to several hundred of the best museums in Russia.

Festival “Intermuseum” was first held in 1999. It was attended by 178 museums from 28 regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. After the festival in 2000 the organizers decided to make it an annual event. Today it is the main event of Russian museum calendar.

Almost every year for “Intermuzeya” Choose a new location. For example, in 2001 he settled in the State Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val, in 2002 – at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” in Saint Petersburg.

At this year’s festival will be attended by more than 200 museums in Russia CIS and other countries.
