The winner of the Venice Film Festival has become a black comedy Roy Andersson – BFM.Ru

Konchalovsky received the “Silver Lion»

The highest award of the 71 th Venice Film Festival “Golden Lion” went to Swedish director Roy Andersson for the black comedy “The dove perched on a branch, thinking about life, “according to Reuters.

The film is a surprising look at the history of mankind, and its action covers a huge amount of time – from the creation to the present day. Comedy is accompanied by lots of sharp philosophical jokes and comments. “Dove” is the culmination of a large-scale “Trilogy of the Living” Andersson.

The film by Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky with the same long and unusual name (“White Nights postman Alexei Tryapitsyna”) took second place for Best Director. Konchalovsky during the preparation of the “Silver Lion” noted that the award was a surprise for him. The main character Konchalovsky – real rural postman named Alex Tryapitsyn. Konchalovsky wanted to make a film-study of the life of a man, but the budget was modest. So he decided to shoot about a postman from Arkhangelsk hinterland. Moreover, in a film that won as an honorary prize, almost no professional actors. At the premiere of “The Postman” Konchalovsky arrived Culture Minister Vladimir Medina.
