Moscow. September 9th. INTERFAX.RU – In short list Booker Prize, which is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world of literature in English for the first time were the authors of the United States.
This is possible since 2014 for the Booker Prize can claim all those who create their works in English and publish them in the UK. Previously, the award can be nominated only by the authors from the United Kingdom and other countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, as well as from Ireland and Zimbabwe.
In the current shortlisted for the Booker Prize, two American authors: Joshua Ferris (Joshua Ferris) and Karen Joy Fowler (Karen Joy Fowler). Ferris claims the award for his novel To Rise Again at a Decent Hour, and Fowler – for his novel We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves.

“long list” of the Booker Prize included 13 names. Winner of the prestigious award will be known on October 14 at a ceremony in London. The winner will receive a cash prize of 50,000 pounds sterling, and the finalists – 2500 pounds.
