It is absurd to somehow say that Mikhail Pletnev – one of the best pianists in general, that is in the world (those who need it and so know), so his solo performances – always a great gift to the public.
1. The concert started with the opening of the overture to the opera Robert Schumann’s “Genoveva”. Its composer wrote about in 1848, taking the story of medieval legend and written on the basis of her plays Friedrich Hebbel, Ludwig Tieck on innocent girl, slandered rejected admirer. Since the bridegroom was noble knight, unhappy sentenced to death. This work is rarely performed in the theater – because it nestsenichnosti – a fact of life when Schumann perceived painfully. But for lyricism, inspiration and a perfect harmony love her concert performers, not to mention the listeners.
2. The first compartment completed 8th concert of Mozart Piano Concerto (“Lützow Concert”). Can someone answer the question why the same sounds are stacked in sequence, cause a person bright joy, and in the other – forced to cry? Hardly. And the word “major” and “minor” there is not much help. Or for example, why the same product, say, Shostakovich, performed by Denis Matsuev and performed by Mikhail Pletnev, sounds like two different? And the feelings and thoughts of it are quite different …
Mikhail Pletnev – is outwardly calm and detachment, no excessive bubbling, but his game takes you as a sliver of wind hitting the clarity and perfection, maybe even a mathematical (well Yes, it is immodest – to describe their feelings).
3. In the second part sounded Symphony number 1 Schumann. He wrote it for 4 days at the happiest year of his life, when he finally married the girl, which was madly in love. Prior to this, constantly receiving from her father’s refusal, Robert Schumann suffered terribly. Symphony he called “Spring” and the most, so to speak, “sad” part, larghetto, like a lovely, very lyrical and tender song, just long. Well, the other three – just spring awakening, fun and April butterflies. By the way, when “Spring” was performed for the first time, the orchestra was conducted Mendelssohn.
