Artistic director of the Moscow theater “Lenk” Mark Zakharov wrote about the situation around opera “Tannhauser” in Novosibirsk that church leaders, “which overcomes censorship itch” should review the rules of relationships with the theater.

The church, according to Zakharov, – earthly institution, and the clergy peculiar delusion and systems that are experiencing all the “wicked people”.

Watching a special zeal, which shows the clergy “for the control of works of art,” Zakharov thinks that he himself wanted to “participate in the construction of temples,” but is aware of the fact that he has no right to interfere in church affairs.

The story of the accusations against the opera “Tannhäuser” directed by Timothy Kuljabina seems Zakharov “is not only absurd, but also blatantly dangerous”.

Mark Zakharov wrote a letter to the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia’s Novosibirsk region and the prosecutor’s office.
