Anthony Hopkins will receive the award named after Stanislavsky – REGNUM

Moscow, October 6, 2015, 18:56 – REGNUM Yesterday in the capital held a press conference to mark the opening of the traditional theater Festival «Stanislavsky Season» , on it were announced winners of the XX International Prize named after Konstantin Stanislavsky. This year the prize is awarded in two categories: “For contribution to the development of theater art” and “Perspective”. Among the seven winners of this year’s festival the outstanding masters of art and still very young talent.

In the first nomination “For contribution to the development of theater art” grand prize will receive the legendary British actor and director Anthony Hopkins , winner of the “Oscar”, “Golden Globe”, two “Emmy”, four BAFTA and many other awards. His career began in the company of the Royal National Theatre, where the young actor was a backup of the famous Olivier . The first major work by Anthony Hopkins in the film was the historical drama directed by Anthony Harvey «The Lion in Winter” (1968) where he played a young Richard “Lionheart”. Also in the nomination “For contribution to the development of theater art” Stanislavsky Prize awarded to the great Russian choreographer, People’s Artist of the USSR Yuri Grigorovich , Hero of Socialist Labour (1986) and winner of the Lenin Prize (1970 ). Throughout his life he dedicated to the theater Yuri Grigorovich. He was choreographer for more than one hundred productions in major theaters of Russia and 8 put your own original ballets. As part of the Festival in 2015 for the first time introduced a new nomination Stanislavsky Award “Perspective”. Its purpose – to note talented young actors, directors, artists and composers. At a press conference the jury announced the names of five winners of:

  • actor Vyacheslav Evlantev – for his role Podsekalnikova in the play of Sergei Zhenovach “Suicide»;
  • actor Oleg Rebrov – for roles in Moscow Theatre for Young Audiences;
  • Shamil Khamatov – for his role in the play of Christopher “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” directed by Yegor Peregudova;
  • Maria Smolnikova – for his role in the play by Lyudmila “On second. Late Love “by Dmitry Krymov;
  • Maxim Kerin – for roles in the Russian Youth Theatre.

As reported IA REGNUM , a traditional autumn festival “Stanislavsky Season» starts in Moscow for the eleventh time and annually presents to the audience the best performances of theaters in Russia and abroad.
