Lyudmila Gurchenko (1935-2011) made her film debut while still a student. In 1956 she starred in the film Frida Ian “The road of truth.” In the same year Gurchenko played a major role in the comedy Eldar Ryazanov’s “Carnival Night” – thanks to the work actress became widely known.

Later Gurchenko has repeatedly collaborated with Ryazanov. She starred in such films the director as “Nowhere Man”, “Station for Two” and “old horse”. Other notable works are the actress roles in “Twenty Days Without War”, “Five Evenings”, “Love and Pigeons” and “Beloved Woman Mechanic Gavrilov.” In 1983, Lyudmila Gurchenko was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the USSR.
