Putin: Russia and Kazakhstan were able to maintain intense trade relations – RIA Novosti

ASTANA, October 15 – RIA Novosti. Russia and Kazakhstan managed to maintain the high intensity of trade and economic relations, despite a difficult external environment, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Despite the challenging external environment, falling prices for major items of our exports, exchange rate fluctuations, we managed to maintain the high intensity of trade and economic cooperation”, – Putin said after talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

He added that in January-July of this year, turnover in ruble terms increased by 23%.

Putin said that during the talks the sides discussed some aspects of the functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union, including the prospects building mutually beneficial relations with third countries and international organizations.
