Two Russian films received awards at the festival in Karlovy Vary – RBC

Two Russian films have received awards at the film festival in Karlovy Vary. One of them – the film director Ivan Tverdovskogo “Zoology” – received a special jury prize

Russian filmmakers have received two awards at the festival in Karlovy Vary. The closing ceremony of the festival took place on July 9.

The picture of Russian director Ivan Tverdovskogo “Zoology” won the special jury prize, said in a statement on the festival website. The film tells about a woman who has suddenly grown a tail.

Another picture of the Russian director Alexei Krasovsky called “collector” was awarded the prize Fedeora Federation of Film Critics of Europe and the Mediterranean, adding “RIA Novosti”. The film tells about the life of the reservoir, the main role in the film played by Konstantin Habenskty.

The main festival prize went to the film “Family Happiness” Hungarian director Szabolcs Guides. Best director jury recognized Slovenian Damian Kozol for his work “Night life».

Special President of the festival prize for outstanding contribution to world cinema was an American screenwriter and film director Charlie Kaufman. A few days earlier a similar prize was also awarded to French actor Jean Reno. Prize for outstanding contribution to world cinema on the first day of the festival was awarded the American actor Willem Dafoe.

This year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival was held in the 51 th time.
